Say you’re heading out to a vacation for some well-deserved relaxation. Maybe your friend’s hosting a destination wedding, or you want to fly down the coast to visit family you haven’t seen in a while. Whatever the reason, you’re getting on a plane, and that means you’ll go through TSA.
After all of the stress you’ve been through, the last thing you want to think about is TSA and wigs. You need it to stay styled and ready for your impending vacation, and you’re in luck- traveling with a wig is a cinch!
If you want to wear it on the plane and you’re concerned about the scanning by the TSA and wigs, don’t be! We have it on high authority that protocol will not disturb your wig or require you to remove it during normal practices. If you were to be asked to remove your wig a TSA agent would escort you to a private room to do so. Still a little worried? Check this out.
If instead you’ll be carrying your wig with you, you won’t have any problems, either. Do make sure to keep your wig with you and do not put it into checked luggage. For a human hair wig, just use the Chrysalis Custom Hair Box that your wig came in. Don’t have it anymore? Use a shoebox. All you’ll need to do is settle the natural hair wig so that it follows the curve of the box, and brush it out with a wide-tooth comb once you arrive. If you’ll be traveling with a synthetic wig, you can use the box method or simply fold it in half and Ziplock bag it. Make sure to lay it flat on top of your luggage and use a wide-tooth comb after the trip. It should bounce back into shape, no problem.
Traveling can be a little on the stressful side, but keep these tips in mind and you’ll have no problem making the flight with your wig looking exactly the way you like it.
