Argan Oil on Human Hair Wigs

Use Argan oil on human hair wigs to keep them moist and supple. Caring for a human hair wig means providing moisture for the hair. Hair that is naturally growing has its moisture needs met with the oils produced by the scalp. Therefore, is necessary to moisturize wigs with a lightweight, natural oil. Argan oil is the best way of moisturizing wig hair.

Although many natural hair care advisers may recommend products such as coconut oil, unlike Argan oil, they will cause damage to your wig. Follow these simple instructions to use Argan oil on natural hair wigs:

  • Pour a dime-sized amount of oil in one hand then rub hands together to evenly distribute.
  • Apply oil by running hands through the hair of the wig beginning about 2 inches from the cap and extending the length of the hair.
  • Do not apply oil to the cap. This can cause slippage in the hair knots that could result in loss of some of the strands.
  • Perform moisturizing about every 2 days or when you notice dryness, indicated by the hair being too fluffy or difficult to manage.
